Unless you have been avoiding the news the past few weeks there is this huge debate over the Debt Ceiling. Apparently, the US is about to be a broke motherfucker and we can’t pay our bills.
For the past few weeks Barry has been trying to work with the Anti-Nike (Just don’t do it- get it, you see what I did there) Republicans, more specifically John Boehner. If you don’t know who he is, here is a photo:
Well basically we have gotten to the point in politics where you CANNOT agree with anything that Barack Obama suggests. All these Tea Party asshole Republicans signed this pledge that under no circumstances will they raise taxes. Now last time I checked our taxes are pretty fucking low, and we really don’t pay for shit, especially rich people. However, Barry has made some concessions to cut into entitlements and all he asks for in return is that the wealthiest of Americans pay more taxes.2 The argument to that is that small business would suffer and no one would hire, blah, blah & blah. I think I was conscious during the Bush Era and we kept on getting tax cuts, big businesses kept on getting tax cuts but I didn’t hear much about “job growth” and a stimulated economy. Hell, they even sent me a stimulus check. This was all supposed to get our economy in gear, but it just ended up going in the tank.
The debt ceiling has been raised something like 36 times (fuzzy number) from Reagan to Bush era and it has never been such a fucking fiasco like it is now. But that is the root problem with politics in 2011. Republicans and Tea Party Assholes have made it their mission to fuck Barack Obama in the ass. They want to deface him so he can’t win re-election in 2012 and at the forefront of that is John Boehner. Maybe I am a little too old school, but this is reminding me of the Newt “I cheat on my wife as much as I can” Gingrich vs. Bill “I really don’t pick that good looking of women to cheat on my wife with” Clinton. Back then it was about Morality3 and now it is the same old song with Obama vs. Boehner. Instead of it being about morality it is about socialism and creating a Boogey Man.
My solution, if I were John Boehner and felt so strongly that Obama is ruining this country, then I would run for President. But nobody ever does that. They want to shit talk and tear a person down without actually challenging them one on one. Boehner is like the troll on a message board that shit talks everyone’s point but wouldn’t have the fortitude to do it in real life. Plus, if he actually won, then he would be the one responsible for fixing this fucking mess.
Needless to say, I fucking hate politics right now. It is so catty and mean-spirited and the only people that truly get fucked is us. I would just like to actually see a nuanced and quality debate where both sides are willing to compromise and not just try to vilify the other side.

2. I am a self-labeled liberal democrat and I like Obama. He is a good man and seems to be a good husband and dad. However, when the fuck did he decide that he was going to be a right-centrist politician? Was it when the Democrats had a majority in all three branches? When 2012 rolls around, I will vote for Obama because the Republican candidates are 31 flavors of crazy, homophobic, anti-human rights or Mormon. I may have hated George W. Bush will all my heart but the one thing I could never say about the son of a bitch was that he didn’t do what he wanted to do. If W would’ve had the majorities that Obama had, who the hell knows what America would look like right now (probably still looking for WMD’s and not paying any taxes).
